Noel Bogope Pilane Born, 25 December 1910. Noel Bogope Pilane was born in Moruleng, the last child of Kgosi Ramono and Martha Bogadi Pilane. He first went to Mochudi National School in the then Bechuanaland. After training as a teacher at Tiger Kloof in Vryburg, he taught at Ramolope in Moruleng, a school built and staffed by the baKgatla-ba-Kgafela themselves. He contributed towards the building of Ofentse Primary School, also in Moruleng. On 16 December 1939, Bogope married Mmadipheko with whom he had ten children, five girls and five boys. While teaching, Bogope did farming in his part-time and, subsequently, left teaching altogether to concentrate on farming. He also opened a shop in Moruleng dealing in general merchandise. However, his heart was never completely out of his first career and, in 1953, returned to teaching and taught in a few primary schools, the last being Matuane where he finally permanently retired in 1968.
